Slightly longer session this time, concentrating mostly on the face.

 

I did try out a little glazing on the body (because it's a technique I haven't done in oil) I found it fascinating and hope to attempt a future painting using this technique!

For this one though, I'll go in and start on the body to unify.

My model has tattoos!

I've asked him to remove them for the sake of my sanity but he's refused! LOL!

 

I actually chose this reference for all of it's challenges; the angle, the lighting, the tats!

I like to give myself as many challenges as I can when starting in a new medium... it is, in my opinion, the best way to learn.
