I can now share what I have been working on in my spare time during the past few days.

The guy on the right is a good friend and my client. His Father, the guy driving the tractor, passed some time ago now and was one of the nicest men I've ever had the pleasure to meet.

In The Studio

 

It's been such a long time since I worked in my studio on anything!

Most of my sketches are either on location or sketched from the comfort of my sofa late at night.

 

When a commission comes up that requires studio space, it's such a pleasure to know that you got it right, that it works, that everything you need has it's place and comes easily to hand, that it's comfortable and that even on a miserable day in January in England...You have light!

 

Let's hope the painting echo's this harmony!

 

 

One Man and His Dog

This is a commission I did back in December 2014.
A fairly modern twist on a traditional bond between one man and his dog!
Client was very happy with his Christmas present from his generous wife.

This is a recent commission piece I did for a new client, Fiona. It's panoramic in dimension which made scanning difficult (note the fuzziness on the right) but I thought I'd show it here anyway.
I met Fiona while sketching a few months back and promised to pop back after my Rome trip to show her my sketches. This photograph holds a very personal memory for her and I was delighted when she asked me to sketch it for her "just like I sketch in my journals".
I'm pleased to report that she was thrilled with the results and that I am delighted to have met another wonderful person through art!
