I simply had to finish my Roma Journal with a sketch of our hotel, which wasn't possible on our last day so I photographed it and sketched it back at home. The hotel was wonderful! Fantastic location, quite, clean, well tended, helpful and polite staff, decent breakfast choice (I have a pure caffeine liquid breakfast so I'm not hard to please) and the room was not only a good size but beautiful!
We had a lovely stay here, I can't fault it for anything!
I hope you enjoyed my 4 day/3 night stay in Roma half as much as Joan and I did.

Roma-Day2-BreakFast Room
The view from our little sun room in the breakfast room at Hotel Residenza Antica Roma. Heavy walking day planned Piazza Del Popolo first with a walk up the steps to see the view I've heard about from Pincio Hill (I didn't get here on my last visit), then onto the Vatican for our long tour and across the Sant'Angelo bridge onto Piazza Navona for dinner (Somewhere else I didn't see on my last trip in 2012) Very exciting! The getleman at reception urged us not to try it all in one day, saying it was TOO MUCH walking....we did it, we proved him wrong...Ha!....Hurt like hell by the end tho'.... LOL!

Santa Susanna Journal - Spread 2
This is Thalassa Apartments, our home for 8 nights, sketched from the beach.
I prepared this spread with decorative papers and stencils before leaving, as I did with many spreads in this journal, and it was fun flipping over the page to find something different to work with.

Rome 07-05-12 - Page 1
Hotel Gambrinus
The breakfast room in the hotel was actually a small series of rooms connected by archways and was an architectural feast of it's own. They served everything you could think of, including homemade cake...I wish I was more of a breakfast person when I see a spread like this but it was far too early for me so I downed my expresso and cappuccinos which were delicious and thought about my exciting day ahead!
Very special day planned!
Oh, guess what?...........The sun was beaming outside!!!
