Sketched from The River Tearooms. One of only four bridges in England to incorporate a chapel....Beautiful!

Getting re-acquainted with the Daler Rowney Ebony paper after using the S&B sketchbooks and trying (and failing mostly) to get the angles on the buildings over the bridge right before attempting the bridge in my next spread.

Took a drive into St Ives for a change and had a coffee at the Dolphin Hotel so I could sketch the tea rooms across the river from a comfy chair by the window.

This A6 journal is taking some getting used to, I've become quite used to the A5 format recently...feeling a little restricted.

River Tea Rooms

Escaping the house for a few hours, I simply drove!
I ended up at St. Ives and parked the car to walk along the river and perhaps sketch from the bridge I remember being there from previous visits. However, the tea rooms sign caught my eye and my fancy and before long I had a table along the river dressed with a latte and the prettiest lemon cup cake I've ever seen.
I sketched both the cup cake and the view across the river.
