All Grown Up

My youngest started secondary school last Thursday, a heart wrenching moment that saw me saying goodbye to another part of the baby I once knew.
He looked stunning all dressed up in his school blazer and black slacks, striped tie hiding the buttons on his crispy white shirt. So handsome. So big!

And so another life chapter begins...

Hunstanton

Some very quick sketches of our recent day trip to Hunstanton. Harry and I ate lunch in the garden at The Lodge Hotel in Old Hunstanton before heading to the beach for a relaxing couple of hours together.

Woburn Safari Park

On Saturday we finally got around to taking Harry to Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire.
Last time we took both the kids Harry was just a baby, so everything seemed pretty new to him this time around. My parents came with us and I prepared a picnic, which we ate on the grass in the company of giraffes and zebras, before heading back around the park again in the car.
It was a wonderful day!

Passing Time In Cambridge

My eldest has been attending an intensive course at college and I had some time to kill while I waited for him after dropping him off.

I spent some time in the museum of zoology, after grabbing a coffee on the square opposite Great St. Mary's church.
I took my neocolor sticks along to play with.

Sunny Side Up

Playing around with my neocolor sticks.

I was recently asked by Sketchalina if she could include a journal spread of mine in the 'cool resource' section of her new journalling book...flattered, of course, I agreed.

Fate, Destiny and Miracles

Last Wednesday, my eldest Son, Jake had a road accident. His truck flipped and ended up upside down in one of the many local dykes. The truck roof was touching the seats, it is as flat as a pancake. His quick thinking to tuck his arms into his chest and curl up right at the crucial moment along with the fact that he was driving a very sturdy 4x4 saved his life.
He managed to release his seatbelt and dig his way out of the bank with his bare hands.

His injuries?...Two small bruises from the seatbelt and a grazed elbow! He didn't even ache the next morning!!!

I did!

He refuses to believe luck had anything to do with it...I quote 'I believe in fate, it just wasn't my time...I'm obviously destined for greater things'.

I love that he thinks so positive, I admire his strength, and I adore his wit, not to mention his heart wrenching smile...My life is so much richer with him in it.

Wells Summer Break - Day 6

This is the last of my Wells break sketches, as always, I feel I could have produced more but there has to be a balance between family and art. The few pages I managed will hopefully provide Harry with a record for him to look back on in the coming years.
