A quick sketch from the supermarket car park before heading in to do my weekly grocery shop. I am so pleased I did this BEFORE I went in and not after because when I came out the beautiful shadows had dispersed with the sun and it was tipping down!

Arrived a little early so sketched while waiting to deliver work to a client


*An update on the Daler Rowney sketchbook saga.
I left a message with my original contact on messenger when I couldn't get a reply from the lab yesterday and they got back to me and were very apologetic. Later the lab rang me too and apologised.
They are sending me out a sketchbook to try for myself to see if the paper operates the way I am used to.
Hopefully this current book was just part of a bad batch.
We shall see!

View from the Co-Op car park after my grocery shop.
This is the first sketch in my new Russell Parry Red sketchbook on the Schoellershammer 4G 250gsm smooth HP paper. The fountain pen glides beautifully across the paper but my Noodlers ink did sit a bit which caused a little movement when I went in with my watercolours, not much though and it didn't disturb me in any way. No bleed through on the reverse and just a small amount of buckling which has corrected itself while the book has been closed between spreads.

Noodlers Bullet Proof Black ink and watercolour in Moleskine Watercolour Folio.
I'm really enjoying the Folio, nice to be working on watercolour paper, although I do find the open spread of the book a little clumsy. I wish Moleskine would make a PORTRAIT watercolour book.
