Lifestyle Changes

Two new changes in my lifestyle have occurred recently, one is a major addiction to the new Activia pots...you know those yoghurt things that have 'friendly bacteria' in them...well I wasn't keen on the yoghurts but the new pots are like a creamy fromage frais and are so delicious I think I may be forming an addiction.
Best of all they are supposed to be good for you...Bonus!

Secondly, I have been giving the lack of exercise in my daily life some thought. Most of the classes seem so boring to me, I don't really wish to jump around and run on the spot for an hour wishing that someone would appear with an oxygen tank, coffee or cigarette with which to revive me. So, me and some female family members decided that we'd attend a class that would provide some fun and on Monday we took a pole dancing class. (Yes, you read that correctly)
What a night! If laughter truly is the best medicine then consider me dosed up to the eyeballs! It was hilarious!
What I didn't expect was it to be really good exercise too.
OH MY GOD did I ache!!!
Actually...I still ache.
EVERYWHERE!
I can't wait for next week's class.

We anxiously await the sketches of the pole dancing! Love this gold background--did you stencil it with gold paint? It almost looks like fabric. The flowers on top are soooo sweet!!

So, glad to hear you like the Pots- Yogurts. I have been on the Activia Liquid and cups for a year now. I know it has helped. I walk on the beach everyday and do my own exercise in the house and on the beach.
I really have to get my leg fixed and then I will be able to really enjoy some mild jogging. I did try and take a tap dancing. I had shoes and everything -- but because I did not care to do the Recital the teacher kicked me out. She had all these old people learners in a chorus line and hid the ones that were out of step -- I knew I would be a hidden one--- no thanks-- was always in the back and told only mouth the words in school. So glad for your Pole dancing.
I swing on the Bus poles. Wonderful fun,

LOL...I would love to make sketches during the class Lisa but it's pretty full on and I don't think there would be time...I'll try though.
The background is a green decorative paper that has scanned through much more golden. It's from a pretty book of floral papers I purchased months ago that I think usually sell to card makers and scrapbookers.

Quilt knit, it always amazes me that those who need the most help at school are always 'pushed to the back' We had the same crowd chosen for the school plays every year, so many more wanted to take part but were never considered good enough. I realise that in adulthood this has to be the case but in schools?
Loved my pole dancing...loved that it made me laugh, that I spent time with people I care about, that I DID something, that I learned something and that it made me feel alive....Probably more alive than I would have liked a day or so afterwards. LOL!

A couple of the girls I work with have suggested we should go to a pole dancing class for a social outing. Sounds like a laugh so I will have to try it. Great sketches.

Beautiful pages - those gouache roses are beautifully done!

This post gave me a real chuckle. Pole dancing with yer mum?! It does sound as though you had a terrific time!

Such a gorgeous journal page of flowers, Anita.

Pole Dancing! I did have to read it twice! You must be the first Mother & Daughter Duo, what a delight. I'm still smiling.

Anita - That's so great!!! Good for you. A friend of mine took up belly dancing for exercise...more exotic than walking!! Have fun!

I love reading all the posts on this--all I could do is laugh!
GOOD for you and your mom!!! From what I have read, Pole Dancing is an incredible workout. Maybe I can find one here in Northern California!
Your yogart comes in cuter pots than it does here in the U.S.
LOVE your work,
Libbi

My husband says he'll proudly install a pole in the basement if I will use it.

I love your flower sketch! I'm already having spring fever! We've had a lot of days in the 20s or colder here and I am ready for some warm weather!
