Fenland Flowers is a local business owned by family friends Tim & Dawn, so I popped round to see if they had any Iris. Sadly, there were none on the Friday delivery truck, so Dawn made a quick phonecall and within minutes her Father was at the garden gate with a huge bunch of Delphiniums and the last two Iris hand picked from his own garden.
Such a sweet thing to do!
I made a few sketches in my journal, I wish I could have given more time to them but I was busy washing and packing getting ready to stay with Joannie in Coltishall on the Sunday.
I have a sketch of each to remember the kind gesture though, a quick visual to spark the memory in the future.

Beautiful sketches and a lovely memory!
I remember you telling me this iris story - makes a nice post. Are we likely to see a painting of the bearded iris we picked for you to take home from my garden??? or did it not survive the journey ??
Love the delphinium sketch - you capture the colours so expertly.
These are just beautiful, Anita!
