Worldwide Sketchcrawl 33

I drove into Downham Market, Norfolk for the 33rd worldwide sketchcrawl.
I sketched this while waiting for Tom to bring the spare set of keys up to me so I could drive home! It looked so much fun I couldn't resist buying it for Harry from 'Bluebells' and found it hard to resist while sketching too!
That's my last sketch of the WW sketchcrawl 33 and the last page of my Maruman sketchbook, so pleased to get that finished up at last.

In my next post I'll be taking you back to Portugal and my 10 days in the sun!

I sketched this from the town square, then went back to the car to put my cupcake purchase away and dropped my car keys down a drain...a deep drain full of black liquid! Gutted!

Denver Mill

5"x5" ink and watercolour

I sketched this for one the EDiM, EDM challenges HERE and liked how it turned out so I've re-sketched it for Haddenham Galleries.

Denver Mill Cafe

This is the sketch I made at Denver Mill from the cafe garden before pulling over in the car to sketch the mill on canvas board.

3 Minute Mill

I recently visited Denver Mill and, after indulging in a slice of their delicious madeira cake and making a quick sketch in the cafe garden, I pulled onto the side of the road to make this...an experiment...Copic markers and acrylic ink on canvas board.

I was wondering if it would be possible to sketch on canvas and ....it is...However, when I applied a coat of acrylic varnish, the markers livened up and smudged all over the place.

Oh well, worth a shot!

Luckily I spent only 3 minutes on this sketch and managed to photograph it before I applied the varnish, so all is not lost!
