This wonderful feline character is a creation of my good friend and art student Jane Kinninmonth. Last year we spent some lessons bringing to life a diary she has had for many years and turning it into a book.
This project was such fun!
Jane was such a natural with the illustrations, worked hard using new computer programs and injected such humour into the character with her well chosen words...She is such a delight to work with, always willing to push her boundaries and try new things.
She is a ray of sunshine and I am very proud of her!

"Seaside Memories" by Jane

This is the recent work of Jane, one of my students.

With each piece we work on I introduce new techniques, applications and challenges and am proud to say that Jane rises to each and every one. She throws herself into the task and enjoys every moment, painting very much from her heart.

I am so very proud of her and, as I'm sure you'll all agree....she should be very proud of herself.

A Year Together

Jane has been coming to me for art tuition for a whole year this week and we celebrated our anniversary by dining out for lunch together. (Thanks Jane)

Above is her latest work (in progress) and below are some shots of her with other wonderful works she has achieved during our time together....There are many, many more!

I love our time together. Jane is passionate about her work, generous with her heart and a pure pleasure to be with, I am proud to able to call her my friend aswell as my student.

Art Class

This week, in class, I got my students to sketch one another and here are mine, a couple of quick ink studies.



I've been meaning to share these photos of my students with their works for some time now. Jane was so thrilled with her rose and so she should be, she did a wonderful job with it. We are currently working on another flower which she is painting entirely with her fingers!!! She's such a pleasure to work with.

...and Roseanne produced this snow scene from her imagination, which is amazing, especially considering she had no artistic background before starting my class. She has a wonderfully bold technique that I admire.

I am so proud of them both!
