25 mins - watercolour
Last week was supposed to be our last 'life' session but I received a text stating that the organiser had indeed found a model for today's class. I was excited by the prospect of working with a different model and looking forward to the session.
However, over the weekend I began to feel unwell and by yesterday I had a full blown virus with all the symptoms of flu. Aches, pains, tiredness, stuffiness, sneezing, runny nose, headaches...you name it!
Life class starts at 12.30pm and by 12.15pm I had rushed through a quick bath, downed several pain killers and sat behind of the wheel of my truck headed towards Whittlesey, a last minute decision to give it a try. I have loved these life sessions, worked so hard to find life models and the thought of missing one, the last one, was too much. I had to at least try, if only to obtain the model's contact number for future studio sessions of my own.
So...I went!

25 mins - Inktense (ink black)
I arrived late but just in time for the longer poses of the session. The model, a dancer, had to leave at 2pm so my work from the day is limited.
The pain killers helped me through.

20 mins - Inktense (Indigo)
After the model left at 2pm the organiser offered to sit for the last pose. Moving directly from nude to clothed brought it's own surprising challenges.
I had my own personal plan for these six sessions that basically involved building confidence in line with an aim to work more tonally by session 6, concentrating on values over line.
I'm content that I managed to complete the plan as I intended and pleased that I was able to get the loose watercolour pose in today, a concentration on form, tone and colour.
Classes start again in October, which seems a lifetime away...I can't wait!
