Column Week 19

I have been eyeing up these brightly coloured peppers sitting in my fridge for days now and Wednesday night I finally scooped them up and found time to sketch them in my journal. On Thursday I sliced them in half and stuffed them with a little flash fried, finely sliced bacon, chicken and mushrooms, topped them with a modest chunk of strong cheddar and popped them in the oven for around 15 mins. I served them with penne pasta in a tomato and basil sauce.

For dessert I treated myself to a couple of the beautiful handmade chocolates I'd purchased in the new sweet shop 'Chocolate Haven' just opened on Chatteris High Street.

Delicious!

Your peppers look good enough to eat! THe bright colors and curvy shapes are very appealing. There was half a red bell pepper in our refrigerator yesterday, and it was delicious cut into strips and spread with fresh goat cheese.

I'm always impressed by your work, and today is no exception. You've made the peppers look every bit as yummy as the chocolate!

Mmmmm...sounds delicious! Those peppers are beautifully shaped and the colors so vibrant. I find yellows hard to communicate because they can get muddy or opaque easily, but yours are just glowing. I'll have to try those stuffed peppers. Your chocolates are delicate.

Lovely recipe - the whole of North Cambs will be emptying the shops of peppers this weekend and creating this lovely dish. Brilliant idea to make a change from local scenes in your column. Needless to say sketch delightful and almost edible!! Loved seeing your studio post and commented like every blogger in town but I'm not really jealous just delighted for you.

I keep hoping that pictures (or paintings) of food will substitute for EATING food. Your paintings are wonderful. Glad you are enjoying your column! We are.

Stopped by to see what beautiful paintings you've made lately (So many! So beautiful!) and found my name in your "enjoying this week" column. Thank you! You're sending me off to sleep with a smile on my face...
