My parents bought me the most beautiful bouquet, filled with such gorgeous flowers; lilies, gerberas, roses, carnations.... I filled 3 vases!!!
I decided to sketch some of them using watercolour alone, no ink, and had a lot of fun while doing so.
I have uploaded the roses onto my online Greeting Card Shop over at GCU.
This is the last of the pages in my Saunders Waterford HP journal that I started on February 11th 2008, it's been a delight to work in. I started the journal with a rose sketch and closed it the same way.
I'm now moving on to another Canson (21 x 15cm filled with 230gsm HP watercolour paper) with it's bright red cover.

Never had the flair for doing flowers
so I enjoy seeing others with that talent.
I always think a new sketchbook is the best part of being an artist.
Oooooh a new sketchbook...this one's a beauty...love the red! I'm just about to start a new one as well...always make me nervous though those first few pristine white pages...:)
I love the look of your new sketch book. where did you get it? I love your drawings by the way, I think they are so lively.
I love the control you have with the watercolor. If this was me, it would have qualified as an ink blot test! Thanks for setting the bar for us, Anita!

The flowers are beautiful! The splatters of paint reminded me of fireworks—very festive!

Love all of it - roses, lilies, colours chosen for background and splats. When you going to answer my request for a meet??
You know that if it's lilies and roses you're posting, I'm going to be sitting here cheering ... and drooling! (Oh dear, makes me sound like a candidate for "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest") ... Where do you find these gorgeous watercolour sketchbooks?
LOVE the rose....these are both beautiful
Thanks Robert, yes, a new sketchbook is a wonderful thing!
D'you know Margaret, I usually feel a little nervous too, apprehensive. However, this is the 1st time I started a new sketchbook and DIDN'T feel like that. I hadn't noticed that until I read your message.
Thanks Lor, I've put details of the book in my March 13th posting.
Thankyou Mark
