Nature's Treasure

Well here they are, those very same daffodils from yesterday. I woke to find they had exploded with life during the night and turned into a pot of gold.

We gained two new family members today, 'Bonnie & Clyde' , Harry's new pet budgies.
Bonnie is pure white and Clyde has the most beautiful, bright aqua shades rolling down his back. He is a real cheeky character but Bonnie loves him and they look so cute together. They spoke to each other while I sketched this afternoon...spring flowers and the sound of birds - Magical!

Sketching Clyde from life was near impossible, he just didn't stop moving and even did a little dance for Bonnie at one point. I can see my new subjects are going to prove more than a little challenging.

Is it spring already? oh, why not!!! The promise is there isn't it? These sketches are wonderful and I'm getting excited about the explosion of color that will be here before we know it!!!!

Lovely job as always. I am trying to talk myself out of a budgie because, well, it would be more work. But goodness, I have wanted one since I was a child. Will my inner child win this one or my grumpy adult who doesn't want another mess to clean up? Hmmm. . . .

Congratulations on the two newest additions to the family, Anita! BEAUTIFUL sketches! I LOVE your use of colour. I'm wondering if these budgies are typical of the budgies we have here in Australia? They can learn words and talk quite well?

I really like your light, delicate touch on these, Anita - it fits the subject perfectly. And your recent studio work is incredible.
