Something I am able to appreciate for the wonderful job of lettering. color choices and execution and the border is to die for!

this is charming, a word that today is not always appreciated but in the victorian day I think it was high praise and that's how I mean it. I am drawn to gouache but it seems as foreign to me, a watercolorist, as oils. I wonder if I should take a class? dana

Gosh, that was an education for me - I'd never heard of him! I love John Atkinson Grimshaw's work - I know he can be considered a bit chocolate box by some, but I'm secretly (well, not THAT secretly) a huge fan, and I'm surprised I've never come across this guy in reading about him. Same sort of era - both northern. Really interesting reading about him, and you've done a wonderful job of capturing the muted colours and softness of his portraits. Very railway children too. ;)

How do you do it?? watching a programme and creating this wonderful piece - such a charming format with the little bows in the corners. Lovely writing as ever.
