I am pleased to report that my
little Angel granted my wish.I completed my grocery shop today, with my sunglasses on, without any signs of a headache...The first headache free day in four days!
While I was out shopping my new tree was delivered...Let me explain...We have had the same Christmas tree since our very first Christmas and this year when we went into the barn to gather the decorations we couldn't find it. After much searching we found the tiny top half, it was only a small tree but it was so precious to me. Finding the top half of the tree helped, I have popped it into a pot as a mini tree so that it will always be a part of our festivities.
Left with no other option I ordered a new tree, a larger one which looked pretty online with it's frosted tips. It arrived today and I could hardly believe my luck when we opened it...It is covered with cones, berries and lights...None of this showed in the picture, the only reason I thought it might be a 'nice' tree is that it had been reduced from £99 to £34. It is gorgeous!!!
We are a very traditional family, change matters, we like things to stay the same, feel like home, we get attached. Everyone loved the tree instantly. It is huge compared to our old one and so, so pretty with all it's red berries and frosted tips.
The remnants of our old tree will always remain special but I am so thrilled to have such a beautiful replacement...I am guarding this one with my life!
The candle in my sketch is one of a pair that stand on the black iron fireplace throughout Christmas. They were actually very cheap and entirely plastic but look far superior, a small battery generates light from the bulb at the top and I use napkin rings around their base to add a splash of colour.

Migraine headaches?
If so I would recommend going to a health food store and getting Butterbur.
Beautiful sketch, Anita. A very pretty candle.
We have 2 small Christmas trees, one in the living room and the other in what we call a den. Since it is only the 2 of us to celebrate Christmas, we don't have a big one anymore. Our kids are too far away for a visit.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Your new tree sounds gorgeous...natural beauty not even needing any decorations...I can only imagine what it will look like after the family decorates it with favorite ornaments...FAB!
Bravo on the headache...now you can realx and enjoy...best keep that little angel nearby ...just in case...Lol :)
Merry Christmas! And I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful, thought provoking art in 2009!
So glad you found at least a little part of your old tree, but your new tree sounds beautiful. Have a wonderful hoilday!
Seems we both did well with our new Christmas Tree purchases - we too could not find the one we thought we brought from Cherry Trees and as the family are coming to us this year had to search for a new one. Channais spotted an advert in the local paper that Morrisons were having 6 ft trees already decorated with berries and cones at only £10 - so I went home via Fakenham and picked one up. Love your candle and can picture it against the black ironwork of your fireplace.
Good blog greetings
I'm glad your new tree was more than you expected!!!! Enjoy your Christmas!!!
Merry Chrismas Anita, I suspect you have been a very good girl this year as your wishes are being answered!
A beautiful sketch, Anita!
We also replaced our old tree with a new one this year....also much larger than our previous tree and the new one has fibre-optic lights...so beautiful!
