Had to visit my framers in Wisbech to collect some mounts and stopped off in Bakers Oven for a quick latte and a sketch while I was there.
I used Winsor & Newton 'Black' & 'Nut Brown' inks which I keep pre-mixed with a little water in a couple of water brushes in my handbag.

Anita, I love the understated color in this and it's perfect 'coffee' color! Great comp too.
Latte and a sketch...the perfect combo! :)
oo, love this spread!
I love the colors. I think I am going to fill some of those Elmer kid brushes some EDMers were talking about with these inks. Love it!

I too love how you only use 1 or 2 colors, makes for a very intersting looking, sketches wonderful as usuall.
I love the Bakers Oven, I always go to the one outside the Graftan Mall in Cambridge. The programme on BBC4 on the illustrators sounds wonderful. Maybe I can get it on the documentries I watch on line from BBC, hope so..
Really liked the choice of colors in this ... you now, haven't found these water brushes here in Israel but I'm going to have to look. What a great effect. Course, my first thought was ... what happens if the water brush breaks in your bag !!! :-)
Friday and Saturday I was with Laura and girls at Lisa's farmhouse, so on reading your blog after shopping this morning, I noticed you sneaked in a quiet reference to your BREAKFAST INTERVIEW. Dashed straight over and loved it all. You are so open and inspirational in your thoughts and the images you posted look fantastic. Glad to see you are also back with your superstore sketches.
I love this sketch! What a great idea with the ink - does it not ruin your waterbrush? I have Winsor & Newton nut brown ink and I would love to try this! What's your ratio of water to ink?
