Teeny Weeny

View across the Fens - Venezia journal - Gouache & Ink

This sketch is the view from my studio window and is just 9x3 cms in size, a small section of a much larger journal page.
I don't think I've ever worked a landscape this small before and have no idea why I did this time but, being a fan of anything tiny, I rather like it!

You should do it more often, it's lovely! ;) I like the muted colours and how you've captured the feeling of expanse and atmosphere.

Oh my goodness what a great sketch and in such a tiny space , amazing. You never stop amazing me sometimes you sketches take my breath away..
Thanks for stoping by, I used a Hugh sketch pad, like 18"x24",
24 sheets, 80lb. Cut up into 4 journals. I was hoping to try some sketches like you do but try is the optimum word here:):)

Thanks Arty, Sandy, Ann, Margaret, Jennifer, Felicity and Dianne.

Dianne you are too kind and made my morning with your compliments. You should deffinately make an illustrated journal. A combination of sketches along with your wonderful collage, ink patterns and designs would make for wonderful pages. Go on...Dive in!
Your sketches may not be what you wish them to be in the beginning but that's the whole point of daily practice isn't it?...To get better! ;)
Is the paper in your journal watercolour paper? If not, do you think you will make some with watercolour paper?

Wonderful. I like tiny things too. It's a challenge doing big. Your sky is so moody and real looking. The telephone wires add a nice point of detail in this one.
