My apple tree produced the most wonderful fruits this year, they all look so perfect and unblemished...Which is more than I can say for Harry who came down with chicken pox Saturday morning!

Oh, I'm so sorry Harry has chicken pox! That's no fun at all....hope he doesn't get too miserable with it!

Thanks for your concern Mary. Harry is fine, he's over the worse and the rash is starting to clear, itching only lasted a day and he coped exceedinly well with it...Bless him!
I also have oragnic redcurrants and strawberries but the birds beat me to them every year! LOL!
I always say I am going to do something with the elderberries but never have, we have trees all over the place, laden with flowers, then fruits...both are supposed to be useful...Next year I will...Yep, next year!

Oh what lovely apples! My tree was so full of apples and they started out so promising but then...they have brown streaks and are buggy. I've been having fun watching the squirrles sitting on the branches eating the apples. Glad to hear that Harry is getting over the itchies! I have the chicken pox when I was 16 and they lasted a full week and a half of itching! lucky him it only lasted 1 day.

Poor Harry, I'm glad to hear the worst is over though and now he'll always remember the apple tree was in fruit when he had his spots.
Gorgeous sketch too, Anita. I'd love to make some fresh juice from those apples. As for the elderberries, my friend here made elderberry champagne - I've no idea what it tasted like because the bottles exploded, one by one!

Poor itchy Harry! I know when I had the chicken pox it seemed like I had it forever (I was about his age!).
Over here, they vaccinate the kids against it now- so my 9 year old is protected. I always thought it showed the difference between here in the USA and home ;)
Love the apples- I have some pomegranates that are ripening- and a couple of figs. I'm hoping it will warm enough for them to finish ripening!

Lucky Harry to get a milder dose of Chicken Pox....all of my five kids have had Chicken Pox at different stages but the worst was my son, Reece, when he was in high school. He had a very severe case...even passed out, it weakened him so much, and was absent from school for 8 whole weeks. I'm glad to hear Harry is well on the mend and probably over it by now as I'm late catching up with your blog.
