Another One Bites The Dust

These are the last pages of my second Canson watercolour sketchbook, which means I can now begin my handmade journal 'Flo', made by Kala.

Those of you that requested a Canson journal from me will be pleased to hear they are now in stock and on their way to me.

Oh how I love to start a new sketchbook! When I get to the last page of the old one I hang on as long as I can to relish the moment of anticipation, filling up any gaps on pages! I know. I really do need to get out more.x

I still find it a bit intimidating to start a new journal. But that's exciting news about the Cansons. I'm looking forward to that one!

Jess I don't know how you cope, I've been so excited to start my new sketchbook that I couldn't wait to finish this one.

Mary it is great news isn't it! I was told 3 weeks but just a week later I took a chance and VOILA!
I'll be sure to let you know when I recieve them.

Anetka, I guess it's just a matter of making the most of those 5 minute intervals where I'm waiting or making a trip 5 minutes longer to capture a sketch of where I have just been. Shopping, doctors, school run, cafe... anywhere and anything really. 5 minutes isn't such a long time, I think it's a matter of 'allowing' yourself that every couple of hoursand having your journal close to make the most of it. My journal makes 5 minutes 'feel' like an hour because I escape everything around me, it's very therapeutic.

Anita, You'll soon need a room just for all your finished journals. You're correct that you can get quite a bit done in a 5 minute sketching session.

Personally, if I was Joan I would be considering gift vouchers for your next few Christmases. ;) I'm no-one to judge, as I've managed to kill an impressive array of flora over the years - including an air plant.

You must have such a vast collection of filled sketchbooks by now - I can't help wondering how you store/organize them. I can picture myself with many, many of those Canson journals packed to the brim with sketches in a couple of years' time. Can't imagine switching to another sketchbook, with different paper, for quite some time.

I like the fact that these sketches have a definite colour scheme going on which matches the sketchbook's fabric cover!
