This is the exact layout of my column appearing in this week's Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard newspapers. My first week, the first step on a brand new artistic journey with my sketchbooks.
Ooooh, how excited am I?

A huge thanks to John Elworthy for his enthusiasm in my work and for the platform he has given me to share it through.

If you have arrived here from the link provided in the above newspapers...Welcome and thank you for taking the time to pop by. Leaving a comment is as simple as clicking on the comment link below this post...I'd love to hear from you!

Congratulations Anita. A lovely sketch, thoughtful column, and great opportunity to share what so many of us love - our visual journals. I too hope that my grandchildren will know me better through my sketches and preserve the journals for their children.

A lovely beginning, Anita. I'm sure your column is going to become one of the most popular features of those papers.

It's a wonderful vehicle to promote the joy of sketching.

And, I bet, The Fens will be fielding an enormous group of converts at the next Sketchcrawl.

Anita such a wonderfully thought out introductory column. Always loved the sketch - you have such quality ideas for your compositions. Having the pleasure of looking at them in your journals, you feel they just grow organically from your pen... but its that amazing creative talent you've had hidden away for so long. Let it blossom my friend from this opportunity. The Fens will become a new mecca for artists all looking for this young, talented, inspirational, true to herself artist we all know as ANITA DAVIES. I am so excited she is my best pal. So proud of you.
