Finding Studio Time

WIP - 16x20" acrylic on canvas

This is the dog portrait I have been working on. Finding time to get in the studio has been a problem this week due to having my youngest off school with tooth ache but I am enjoying my time with him.
This picture shows the painting stage approx. 2 hours in, including the background, which I washed in French Blue and cream to bring out those orange toned eyes.
I am using two photographic references for this painting, both taken by myself, and Finity acrylics.
I haven't had much experience with fur but I am pleased with my results so far.

Wow, this is coming along beautifully! I can't believe you don't have much experience with fur because I can see that your handling of it is superb! Can't wait to see the finished painting! Will check back!

It looks great, Anita. Great tone that you're working on - that blue wash.

What a nice painting, Anita. I've been playing with acrylics but not liking them for being so transparent. It looks like you really know what you are doing with them. Tricia

Oh no wonder I have not heard from you lately with Harry poorly and the fantastic dog portrait in progress. You put me to shame with your wonderful work. Amazingly good - the owners will be delighted and should pay double whatever you have asked!!

Beautiful beginning. You are such a natural talent. But, you knew that, because I've said it before... many times. Ok, I'll quit gushing. lol!
