Boys Toys

A quick study of one of Harry's many toy vehicles sketched while lazing on the sofa this evening.
I don't believe I've ever sketched his toy vehicles before, the truck proved both interesting and most challenging. I don't think this will be my last sketch on this subject category.

I just wanted to pop in to thank you in person for the encouraging words you left for me at both EDM as well as at my blog. I also wanted to tell you how much they meant to me considering that they are coming from an artist that I admire and subscribe to via rss feeds. Yes, I am a lurker... forgive me. I got caught up in the blogging-commenting thing a couple of years ago and found that I was spending to much time on the internet and not enough time at my art.

I understand that you are participating in the classical drawing group. Yeah! I am as well. I love the figure. Perhaps we will meet through that group as well.

I am unsure if you can get the magazine, "Drawing", published by American Artist. I got my copy today and it is absolutely fantastic! In this edition they are focusing on figure drawing. It is packed with lengthy and well written articles along with high quality drawings, both classic as well as modern.

Enjoying your artistry as ever,
Roma

Anita, how do you do it all? You're an amazing artist, not to mention a prolific one and you still have time to take on so many other other things and you're a mom with toys all over the house, you're a member of NaBloPoMo(it looks very interesting)..., you commit fully to projects and you promote other artists' work? I can only take my hat off to you.

(thanks,I feel honoured)

Anita, These are both lovely, but I really like the perspective of the one directly facing foward. Very nice!!

You did a great job on the truck. I always find vehicles difficult to draw because of all the different perspective lines and if your lines aren't straight, it throws off the whole drawing. But, you did an awesome job.
