Self portrait - Ink & watercolour - 15 minsBefore life class on Tuesday I managed to add another two sketches to my Seawhite sketchbook. The self portrait was sketched from life and if you look very closely you may actually see a hint of a smile...Just a hint mind!
The figure studies were sketched quickly from the
Posemaniacs website using the 'Today's Pose' feature you can see on the right hand side of this blog.

Yes! I see a hint of a smile! 'Bout time! Now, why are the tiny facial lines as dark as your eyelashes and more detailed when a suggestion here and there would do nicely? Of course, in one I've done of myself I totally ignored every line that wasn't there 40 years ago. *lol*
Your portrait series is very interesting to follow.
Anita, you are my heroine! I have been doing more portraits now more than ever and will be trying your technique of timed, quick self portraits. Those are more "real" anyhow. I do see your smile ... if only a hint of it. :)
I appreciate the way you added the small bit of color around your figures. This adds a new level of sophistication to the composition.
Also, I totally agree with Joan. Your willingness to face (ha.) self portraits does make you a heroine.
Aha! There is a hint of a smile. And thanks for the link to the poses. Nice drawings and inspirational as always.
Hey, look! A smiling self-portrait! When I try to draw one, I always stare so intently into the mirror I end up looking like a murderous psychopath. Neat work! ;-)
LOL...Thanx Jenny!
Thanx Joan, so glad you found some inspiration here.
Thankyou Suzanne.
