Harry The Supermodel

2, 3 & 5 minute studies in Noodler's red/black ink

At the ripe old age of 9 being his Mums' model would be a little restricting so I have never asked Harry...Until now! I have caught him frequently, unaware, while playing but he has never consciously modelled for me before.
Yesterday Harry was in the yard playing with a sword and dagger and I saw a great opportunity for some very quick lead-free figure studies. I kept the poses short, concentrating on proportion and weight distribution rather than a portrait likeness.
Harry enjoyed it and created all 4 poses himself, he has also offered to model for quick sessions like this again.

Yes, he does have his tongue sticking out in the top left pose!

Super sketches and so typical of his age! The tongue sticking out is a classic!

Great sketches, you certainly achieved your aims with these! Won't they be wonderful to look back on in a few years.

Anita - Wonderful! I love the way you've combined the sketches on the page too. As for self portraits - they are extremely hard I think. I'll look forward to many more because I know you'll shine at the end.

Ah - fantastic! You and he will both look back on these (and the future portraits!) and laugh over good memories. It doesn't get much better than that.

Thanx Felicity.
Harry didn't think I would draw the tongue but I thought it would provide the most treasured memory of all these sketches.
