School Is Out

Summer 2007 Journal - Header Page

Saturday was officially day one of the school summer holidays, my most favourite time of the year when I get to have my children all to myself, all day, every day!

Of course, my eldest Son finished his exams a few weeks back and, apart from attending a couple of 'taster days' at his intended college, has been home with me anyway.

To celebrate I began a new Summer journal with a 6x9" Venezia sketchbook where I will log each day throughout the six week holiday. With the dismal weather we have been experiencing in the UK this year, I am hoping my Summer journal will encourage and remind me to find something fun to do each day throughout the break as opposed to ending up stuck in the house, out of the rain watching DVD after DVD on the sofa. It's all too easy to slip into a dreary routine when the sun fails to shine.

Great idea! Looking forward to seeing this journal. I agree with you about the summer holidays; I never understand those people who seem to view them as some sort of trial to be survived.

Those people amaze me Dave, I mean...God forbid you would actually have to spend time with the children you CHOSE to create!

Running two blogs means my journal pages will be scattered between the two but I will be showing them and I'll try to link them up best I can!

What a cute sketech! I love how you've done the water using such intense color.

this really cracks me up...you are JUST getting out for summer...we start school next hmm well in a week and a half...back out into the heat of summer! When the kids should be at the beach....and the teachers loafing at home!

BYTW like the summer journal pages...very crisp...look almost like a finished printed book...nice job...

Thanx Margaret!
We're still waiting for our summer here, rain and flooding everywhere!!!
I think our kids could return to school in six weeks without ever getting on a beach! :(

What a great idea! And years from now it will bring back memories for all of you.
