Handy Inspiration

Inktense: Bark & Baked Earth - 20 mins

I'm feeling much better generally (Thank you for all the lovely well wishes) but my energy levels are still low and I'm finding it difficult to decide what to fill a page with subject wise. I'm mentally keen to be sketching but nothing seems to be happening physically, my rose coloured glasses have slipped making every subject seem uninteresting and unappealing. After being so productive recently, I have found this part of the virus the hardest to tolerate.

On Wednesday Bert Dodson helped inspire me and yesterday a necessary trip to Holbeach resulted in a quick sketch, nothing special but at least something got onto the paper and kept the momentum going. Today it rained constantly...AGAIN!...so no chance of seeking inspiration on location.

I decided to check into the 'Artwork from life' forum at Wet Canvas and managed to find my kick-start in the thread entitled 'Hand a day sketch thread' a challenge set by Wet Canvas member Lacey Bryant. The challenge invites you to sketch your hand (or a someone else's hand) everyday for a month and you can start whenever you like, so I started today!
I'm not sure if I'll be able to create an entry everyday, nor if I'll want to, but today this little challenge stifled my frustration and kept me from going mad and for that I am grateful!

Happy you're feeling somewhat better. You have to be patient, it does take time and of course, weatherwise..the biggest thing for me was not to strress about it and keep saying to myself...this glitch will pass and then I'll have a coffee and read or do something else that I never have time for.
You're doing great though, very inventively, you found a goal...that's great. And of course your hand is beautiful. I enjoy hands, along with someone's eyes, they convey so much emotion and expression, even when still. Great work, keep going, drink those vit C's and do fun things!

So glad you're better, Anita! You've been so awsomely productive, perhaps you're simply 'incubating' new ideas as well ... your hand sketch is over-the-top fabulous!!! The colors are just perfect!

I'm glad you're on the mend, Anita. this hand is amazing. I thnk I'll try to join your challenge (but I may not post them all). Sounds like a great way to get over my fear of drawing hands!

Thankyou Lin.
I'm a hyper insomniac and a couple of times a year my body rebels and cries...no screams....REST!...and simply stops!...which is probably a good thing.
Fighting fit again now and rebelling hard! ;) LOL!
