BrightSpark

Today my Son, 16, made me a light box with scraps of baton, wood and Perspex he found in the sheds.

I am thrilled with it!

It's 2ft square and he has even fixed a handle so I can move it around the studio with ease. All I need now is a strip light and I have the perfect light box.

I was looking these up on the internet yesterday and an A4 size retailed at around £50, the larger sizes being over £100.
Mine?...Well mine is FREE and full of sentiment and smiles!

What a talented family. Do you loan Jake out at all??? When can I come round to use the bespoke Jake lightbox??? Never used one before - is it cheating??!!!

TOO COOL! (the light box and the son!)

LOL...The postage may make you bankrupt but I'll ask Dave. ;)

I'm having trouble finding a lamp/striplight for it at the moment...Living in the fens has it's woes! :(

Cheating?...Well, I think that's a long ongoing debate but personally I believe it not to be cheating if the artwork being transferred is your OWN!
My latest book requires use of a lightbox to merge illustrations that 'I' have sketched previously, reading through I think the lightbox will save me heaps of time with these exercises.

I'll ask Jake how much he charges! ;) LOL!

Thankyou Arty!

Jake does excellent work. Guess he's a keeper.

You may need two light strips to even out the light source. I've had a lightbox for decades, originally for looking through slides, and they are so handy when needed. For artwork, it's not cheating, it's technique.

Thanx Jenny.
Yes, I was wondering if 2 lights might be needed...I'd be happy finding 1 right now though! :(

Isn't it great to have kids? I always get stuff made out of legos. Your son has inherited your creativity.

They have a way of making you wonder how you ever existed without them don't they Sherie. LOL @ the lego!
