Rainy Day In The Studio

Pouring down outside, being some what of a sun worshipper, usually it would annoy me but it's good today for a couple of reasons...

Firstly, I've recently planted some veggies and flowers in the garden, so the watering is very welcome.

Secondly, the heat in the studio gets quite unbearable in the afternoons and I have a commission to work on, so the rain has given me the whole day, as opposed to a couple of hours this morning, with good light and a reasonable temperature.

It's been a while since I uploaded a pic of my workspace/studio. I've changed it around a little since my last upload and built a massive cupboard, at the end that joins the dining, room for materials and canvas etc.

It has beautiful rose handles!!!

This meant moving the PC to the far end by the window, which is handy when I'm working from a ref on my NEW easel you can see in the corner there...A little wooden folding table with a big sheet of plastic is my palette. The VERY long desk has gone and I've popped a big mirror up for when I work on self portraits. The white table slides over my plan chest of drawers when I'm not using it making the whole room feel bigger and look much tidier.

My original easel acts as a second drying space for finished wet oils.

Your studio is lovely, Anita -- such nice light and airiness! I think we all would love to work inside such a beautiful spot!
