My Weekend In Norfolk - Horning

The Swan Inn Garden

Joan and I spent Saturday in the small village of Horning. We had coffee and cake in a quaint cafe garden, lunch and a tipple in an elegant pub garden and all just yards from the river Bure. The sun shone, the laughter flowed and we even managed a few sketches.

This final spread of our day was created in just a couple of minutes (approx 30 seconds for the boat sketch before colouring) I was surprised at how it came out...A good example for all those 'I didn't have time to sketch' moments!

Amazing to be reminded at how much sketch work you put in during our days out together. I can picture you leaning up against that little boundary wall in the sunshine sketching the two churches at Reepham. As for the quicky sailboat piece - it was just three phenomenally placed lines and voila. You are amazing.

I am amazed by the quantity and quality of the sketches you get done while visiting with your friend. Does she get as much accomplished as you do?

I'm envious of the sketch outings you take with Joan....and I'm particularly impressed with your last quickie sketch!
