A Weekend In Wells-Next-The-Sea

My weekend with Joannie was fantastic!

Joannie booked Maryland Corner, a quaint cottage just a few minutes walk from the Quay, as a birthday gift to me. We met at the cottage early Friday afternoon and, after a long chat, we headed towards the quay for some sketching.

Back at the cottage, after a delicious meal and a few glasses of wine, we decided to make paintings from our sketches, here's mine...

Ooh! I'm first to comment. Just going to bed early to read my new library book and try to bring down the swelling in my ankles and thought 'must check if Anita has added her Wells blog post yet'. ... and she has... and its brilliant. The lovely soft evening created watercolour looks great as it does in real life.
Look forward to our next weekend up there!!??

I cannot tell you often enough how much I enjoy your journals. This makes me feel like I was right there with you watching those little boats.

Such a lovely spread and great painting ... oh to be able to paint like this!

On a separate note, may I ask if the pen you use to write on your journal page permanent ink? If so, is it pen with nib? I love to write with an italic nib but am never sure the best way.
Thanks

I love these sketches! They really capture the feel of the place for those of us who can only be there via your paintings! Marva
