Ely Indulgence

My Mum, my Aunt and I had 'tea' at Peacocks; sandwiches and cakes all cut up into bite size portions and served on a cake stand with hot beverages served in fine bone china that didn't match followed by scones served with homemade jam and clotted cream...Wonderful!

We walked around the market for a while and then stopped off in the cathedral cafe for a cuppa before returning home with organic strawberries purchased from a farm shop.

Oh! I love this!!! Not that I had to tell you... but I love fine china and especially if it doesn't match! Sounds like a place that I have to go next time I am in Ely (not that I actually have any plans for it... but I adore the cathedral and would love to go back and sketch it!)

I loved reading your words about the tea and the sketches are wonderful. I had clotted cream for the first time on the plane from Ireland and fell in love with it and wonder why it so scarce to buy here--it remains a lovely memory that you stirred...
