Last Thursday I took a drive into March, intending to grab a coffee at the library and sketch some of it's visitors. I noticed a woman walking infront of me had a box of art materials and watched as she entered a room off the main library floor. I'm not sure what possesed me but...I followed her inside! I introduced myself and asked about the group. It seems the group is more of a gathering than an instructional group, this really appeals to me...being in the company of like minded people for a couple of hours a week. Sadly the group is full and has a long waiting list, I put my name down. The chair (Gill Jolley) invited me to stay the morning as her guest and I spent a wonderful two hours looking at other's work and chatting. The group knew of me from my column in the Cambs Times and it was a rather odd but very pleasant experience.
The group was extremely welcoming and I had a great time. (Thank you all!)
Before I left the group booked me to hold a mini workshop in April, which was the cherry on a deliciously iced cake!

nice study
What a great experience! I just googled the Cambs Times and found your column - how cool! I love Cambridge itself but haven't been for ages.
Love the sketches, especially that hat on the person using the PC. :)
Nice stuff.
Great people studies.
I wish there was something like that in my local library!
Awesome sketches. Great work!
And that's amazing! I wish I was that lucky when on my sketch outings. It sounds like a fun group to join.
Good for you. I need to start carrying my sketch book around with me all the time, which I don't usually do.
Well done pal - you were certainly intended to go into that inner sanctum. Now you know what I have always said YOU ARE FAMOUS!!
The library is a fun place to sketch. Nice that you found a group that you can do a lesson for!
YOW! Serendipity to the max! You are actually "living the dream" Anita! You go girlfriend!
Wonderful things just keep on happening for you; couldn't happen to a more deserving artist! Thanks for sharing them with the rest of us.
How'd you know the lady's box contained art supplies? Fabulous sketches Nita... and you'll be the best teacher they ever saw.
What wonderful gesture sketches! These are really hard to do, and you've just plain nailed them. Nice sense of the people in just a few strokes. Wow.
Thank you all so much for your wonderfully, encouraging and supportive comments. They are appreciated more than you know. :)
