Back in October I had an evening where I sketched some ACEO’s from imagination. A most relaxing time was spent allowing the mind to drift and the hand to draw what ever it so wished. The set above is the result of that wonderful evening.
I've been contemplating whether to colour them or not ever since. I'm excited at how they could look and yet content with their monochromatic state. Each time I get my watercolours out, I hesitate before packing them back away.
Perhaps they were meant to be left in the spontaneous state in which they arrived, a subconscious journey, a moment...an adventure of the mind.
All four originals are available to purchase through my Etsy shop.

I love, love, LOVE these!!! I especially like the first one with the sun and that wonderful landscape. That is just FANTASTIC! I think there is a reason why you hesitate to add color to these - they really are amazing in black and white. Maybe your next ones can be in color. Awesome, awesome job Anita!

Remember you can scan them in and color the copies to see how you like them. Sometimes we forget all our options when there are so many.
These do look great in black and white. But then, hmmm pastels or brights?
Anita--this must have been a very meditative exercise! They are certainly perfect the way they are, but I'd love to see what incredible things happen when you put some paint on these! It's a win/win!
These are fabulous the way they are...and look stunning in a grouping like this...I love the graphic intensity of them this way...oooh yesiree!
Okay...I know you didn't ask...but...1 vote for keeping them B/W...LOL :)
They are FABULOUS, Anita! I think they need to be left exactly as they are!
I think they look wonderful as they are, Anita. I love the one with the lone, bare tree in the distance (I feel a story coming on!).
These are lovely especially the way you've drawn the perspective! Could I ask what ACEO means? :)
I too, like you other visitors, would like to see them left monochrome and also my favourite is the lone tree.
Did you pick up my emails re childrens book publisher and Hayley's update.??
These are wonderful. I love their strong graphic quality, which is enhanced by the black & white color scheme.
Anita these are gorgeous, I too love them in black and white. You are a brilliant artist...
They are FANTASTIC and I vote for leaving them as they are. I drew a zentangle heart a week ago and was pleased with the graphic, intense look of the detail but then, I went ahead and coloured it. I wished I hadn't....the colour is okay but it lost the intensity of the black and white image. :(
