When God Asks

I have this little book by Richard Wilkins entitled 'When God Asks'. I can't remember where I purchased it or indeed when but I love re-discovering it now and then.

The book is based around the reader imagining that the ultimate guest has come to dinner and asks some simple questions, each page has just one question and each question ends with...What will you say?
Although the book steers towards religion in it's title, it ends there. The foreword asks you to 'follow the wisdom of your own answers' therefore the book is much more an exploration of oneself than a journey into Christianity...unless of course answering to God is what you wish.

The questions are so simple and yet so powerful, designed to be read with the mind and answered from the heart, allowing one to improve on their life NOT to show them where they are going wrong.
I love that about this book, it can be so uplifting and very grounding and with very little text it's so easy to pick up and fit into any day.

Judging by the question you shared, I can see this really is a nice book. This question with it's choices can guide one inclined towards guilt to pursue another way if they want. It sounds like a great book for everyone. Glad your Jake is feeling a bit better.

I say I learn from my mistakes. Feeling guilty is negative, but that doesn't mean that I'm not sorry at times for mistakes. But once that is acknowledged, I move on and hope I've learned something. I have been so busy of late with life that I've not had time to come visit my favorite art friends. If you are the only one I visit tonight; it was a small journey well enjoyed!!! I love the richness of the reds....my fav color!!!

How good to share this little book with us all Anita. I always feel when you 'flip' through such a book and land on a certain page the message is there that we need. Do one for me tonight if you can - I expect it will be about patience!! Oh yes, interesting colour for this sketchbook artwork - reddish brown - red for positive approach to life and brown to earth us artists from our constant reveries.

I agree and I love red too Marta! So pleased you managed to pop by :)

Joannie I flipped and the result:

Lovely sketch color is amazing.
Wonderful book, I don't believe in any certain religion but believe we are all spiritual being here haveing a human experience. We all have lessons to learn. This book sounds like a great way to learn them. If we can all be a little more tolerante and accepting of one another, well what a better world we would have eh:):)
Thanks for sharing this with us...
Glad to hear Jake is on the mend...
