Nibbles and Notes - Day 10
Did you know that Satsuma's contain pectin, a form of soluble fibre that can help to lower blood cholesterol levels? Make sure you eat the membranes between the segments as well as some of the pith, this is where the pectin is found.
I learned a new word thanks to you! It sounds totally Japanese. We call them "mandarines" and I had never realized the Chinese origin of this word before. I guess they all came from the East? Very nice sketch too, the satsuma looks great.
Thank you - I didn't know that. I can only eat them when they're very sweet unfortunately - and that's not often. I'm happier to see your fab drawings of them. x
