Lead Free Figures

It's been a while since I did any figure sketching. Since our local supermarket closed their cafe for renovations and stole my free model sessions I used to have before my weekly grocery shop I haven't really had much opportunity.

I had intended to concentrate on figures for a month before I started my food journal, there are specific formats I want to address, namely, sketching directly with pen to create an essence of the figure.
So I decided I'd make use of what I have recently and when Harry threw himself on the sofa the other morning I ran to grab my moleskin and a pen.

I also took a few moments to sketch the parents while standing outside Harry's classroom at hometime, a first for me, it was very busy and very fast!

Lastly, I took a few minutes to whip through some 45 second poses on the Posemaniacs website, concentrating on the upper body and head angles.

Simply knew it was Harry just from those few lines on his face. Loved the colours used in the parents sketch. Had my brother and Gaynor since Thursday and not going home till Wed - so not been adding any new posts - been so busy getting out and about in this lovely part of England.

Hiya Joannie.
Harry's face is buried in the sofa, he's lying on his front and that's the back of his head and his night gown collar you can see. LOL!
Glad you are enjoying your company and surroundings!

I love what you do with Pose Maniacs and think this overlapping concentration is just wonderful. I'm inspired to sit down and do it again! Thanks for the inspiration....

Love the great proportion, which I struggle with.
