Back from a wonderful break in Coltishall with my dear friend Joannie with just enough time to unpack and set off for my Wednesday night art workshop.
Joannie picked me one of her beautiful Iris before I left and I took it to class with me where I set one of my students the task of creating three macro watercolours with it.
On returning home I decided to do the same in my 'Flo' journal and created 4 tiny studies of my own while enjoying a nice hot cuppa!

You work so quickly - all these wonderful iris macros with only one cuppa!!!!! Great exercise for your class... How did it go? Great news - popped into Swallowtail to get 3 more discount cards to send to new members for my workshops and he handed me a cheque. He had sold my Coltishall boathouses watercolour.
It seems as though a wonderful relaxing time was had by all. Nothing like a cuppa and a brush of w/c.

Thanx Kate. I used to paint lots of macros, I love them and find them soothing both to paint and view. I'm flattered to say the O'Keeffe name came up a few times then too. I like to zoom in on a subject, record it's hidden details and folds. My sketchbooks and journals have taken over a little since but I hope to get a little more painting in the studio just as soon as my furniture arrives. :)
