Waiting For Harry

Ink & watecolour

These are a couple of very quick sketches I made outside the school waiting for Harry.
On both occasions I arrived a little early, so I grabbed my small Canson sketchbook and made the most of the time I had before going to collect my Son.
I had approx. 15 mins to produce the top sketch using my Lamy fountain pen and coloured it on site.
The figure sketches are other Mums and were sketched as they moved and walked, so time was very limited but I found it to be a great exercise in sight, information gathering and line selection.

I like quick sketches, they are full of dynamic, specially your second sketch.
I agree, it's a great exercise to try and sketch moving people:)

Anita, I always enjoy seeing your little part of the world in your sketches. You really inspire the rest of us to get out our sketch books and draw!

I especially like the 2 figures as with this class, I'm really observing the human form. I think these are done playfully but also with close attention to the form. I love them!

Thant's great to hear Susan...Thank you!

Thanx Arty, it is Noodlers Lexington Gray ink.

Thanks Joan.

Thankyou Joan, so pleased you think so. I used to take me ages to get to this stage in a sketch...I do see the difference sketching regularly brings.

Thank you so much Ann.

Thanks Marta...I am soooooooooooo envious of this course you are on.
