Tulips With A Twist

My Mother's Day floral basket is still going strong and the two white tulips are now in full bloom. I decided to paint them in watercolour and add the ink afterwards, I usually draw in ink first then add the colour. The idea was to trace around various coloured areas with my Lamy and produce a 'stained glass' effect.

Oooooooh,Anita!

IT ARRIVED!!! Saturday in the mail!
I am sooo delighted. I posted pics on my blog today...it is so lovely and "springy". You, my dear, are a treasure for us all. ;)

Your white tulips here are cool. Tulips are my most favorite flowers ever! They are just so spunky and fresh. (I was told once if you put copper pennies in the vase the stem won't bend very much.)

I love to add the ink after painting-it seems to make the whole piece seems so spontaneous and loose...it offers a special little surprise each time! :)

I'm struck by how much fun it looks like you had doing this, and the handsomeness of your lettering. I must get a journal that I can watercolor in... on both sides of the paper!
