Bit of a girlie day today...
My new shoes arrived with the post this morning, a suede little number with leather detail and a tiny silver buckle. YUM! A great excuse for a sketch!
I then set about painting my dark Cruella D'evil roots with a nice blonde shade and tried out the Fuchsia tinted lip gloss my parents gifted me at Christmas.
I did intend to sketch another self portrait while colouring my hair but decided to watch the 'Scent of a Woman' DVD I treated myself to in the sales instead.

Anita, I LOVE visiting your blog!! The shoes are scrumpcious! You also remind me that I need to do something with MY hair!! You are also inspiring me to try a self portrait as well..... wish me luck!! deni.....;)
I am loving that high heel! Oh my, I love how they look and hate how they make my knees feel. Still I could just eat that picture up.
I can see why you painted your shoe ... lovely shapes! :) Oh, you are brave. I don't dare color my hightlights myself ... but based on the fact that it costs me an arm AND a leg each time, perhaps I should rethink doing it myself! Great sketch btw!
What a wonderful girlie day post, Anita. Lovely sketches and such a warm 'self portrait' of you enjoying being a girl. You made me smile on this foggy, dark winter morning. Brava.
I've never attempted to colour my own hair again since, at the age of sixteen, I accidentally turned it carrot orange and had to cover it with Magic Silver White - which was actually purple when used full strength!
Great sketches.....LOVE that shoe! I colour my roots regularly but sometimes it seems like such a chore.
That really is a girlie shoe! ;) I'm not a girlie sort but it's great to have have girlie moments now and again - sounds like a fun day!
I do like this painting of your shoe and the colours you've used.
Looks like you use the same hair dye as me!
Beautiful sketch Anita - and I am in loooove with those shoes. I'd actually look for excuses to wear heels if those were in my closet.
Oh the shoes.....drool.......from Wrangler boots to diva pumps....I could have fun shopping with you! Aren't girly days fun!!! I try to fit in one or two a month...but the hair...I leave that to my girl Lucy who knows what she's doing..as I do not when it comes to my hair color!
Oh what glorious shoes! Would you believe that I posted a sketch called "New Shoes" the very same day? But not near so glamorous! How fun! I love your shoes and wish I could wear them.
