Finished

Finished this today and signed after photographing.

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. I'm pleased with the fur, lots of dry brushing!

For those of you interested in the technicalities, my palette consisted of Finity acrylic paints:
Burnt Sienna
Burnt Umber
Titanium White
Mars Violet Deep
Payne's Grey
...and of course French Blue for the background shade which was Liquitex.

The dog is fabulous. I wish I had your talent to be able to do my deceased cats. Well done.

I love German Shepherds! My Mum and Dad bred and showed them for years. They are a beautiful, intelligent and noble breed. The recipients will be absolutely thrilled, Anita! Beautiful work ~ :)

Utterly fabulous Anita. GS are my favourite dogs....such loving loyal animals. You've really caught the tender intelligent expression in his/her eyes and the noble stance of his/her head. Gorgeous.

Your painting is stunning anita! You've captured such a beautiful pride, but also a gentleness, which is typical of them..I grew up with one of them. They are beautiful dogs, in appearance and pride and behaviour...when they are trained, like all dogs, of course! you can feel proud of this painting.
