Lead Free Life ll
Another lead free session in the studio using photographic references. I allowed myself 15 minutes for each study and used aqua and orange coloured pencils to 'funk' them up a little.
The first study is a very difficult pose indeed, the arms were extremely challenging especially directly in ink!

Well done on the arms - they're great. Nice sketches.
Great sketches!
Thanks Robyn. I still see alot wrong with the arms, they look wooden to me, especially from the elbow to the wrists and her neck seems a little stiff and....well, I could go on LOL! I am an excellent critic of my own work.
I am really pleased with the chest area though. Important to know where we succeed aswell as where we stumble. ;)
I'm pleased with the 2nd sketch, her arms worked much better.
Practice WILL get me there!
Thankyou Shelly!
Love the combination of limited color with the black ink. And the face of the second one is so compelling.
Thankyou Juj!
Nice work. I will say I agree with you on the wooden feeling of the arms, but gosh, you did them in pen without any preliminary drawing so I must say I think it's wonderful. The arms on the second one do look much better. I'm sure your next one will be better yet. Keep up the great work.
Glad you agree with the arms being a tad 'wooden' Sherie, honest, constructive critisism is the most amazing learning tool of all in my opinion, I appreciate your honesty!
Yep, 2nd was much better.
Thankyou!!!
