This week I set myself the challenge of making a quick sketch each time I entered my art studio.
My challenge produced quite a nice little body of work based within my studio, the idea of leaving a sketchbook in a specific room for a week really appeals to me, it's amazing how much more interesting the 'ordinary' looks when you have a pen and a sketchbook in hand!
Perhaps you'd like to try this for a week too?...I'd love to see the sketches you produce should you give it a whirl, please let me know where to find them so I can take a peek!

What a wonderful self-challenge. Are you going to "move" your sketchbook to another room this coming week?
Anita, your work is absolutely superb!! delightful images, scenes, and objects!!! BRAVA!
Anita - it is amazing to me how crazy prolific you've been lately. Every time I turn around you've posted something new and every one of them just fabulous. I can hardly keep up!
I LOVE the tubes of paint in this series, and the plant right below them, and the pitcher of paintbrushes...Such simple sketches of such ordinary things but so beautifully done. You are such an inspiration.
Anita, I have to agree with judi! You are so wonderfully productive and it is all such high quality work. Even your quick sketches of your studio is simply beautiful. You are an amazing artist.

Thankyou Chris...I think I might. ;)
Awww, thankyou so much Lin!
Thankyou Judy.
There is more too, that I haven't posted yet and then, of course, there is my book...I'm working on that too!
Caffeine and insomnia seem to work beautifully with productive art! LOL!
Thankyou so much Ronell!
Yikes, I go away for a weekend and come back to an avalanche of new sketches! All I've done all weekend is help at my nephew's ninth birthday party (3 hours) and recover from said party (rest of the weekend)! Your idea of doing a sketch of a room every day is a great one, and I really like the sketch of your son. Funnily enough, my wife just brought me one of those sets back from Japan a couple of weeks ago. I haven't tried it yet...
What a neat idea....great job on the drawings as usual! So far all i have done is cook and mess with the darned swimming pool...which is a hole other pain...
Charming and beautiful. I especially like the brushes.
You know, I was thinking about this same challenge when everyone was doing their EDiM challenge. I didn't do it because I know my limitations. But, I think I might be able to do a little something every day around the house. It's summer and even though we are doing schoolwork straight through, the pressure is off to get it all done by a certain date. So, I think today I will begin and do something every day for 7 days. Thanks for the gentle shove. These are lovely sketches and every time I see what you have done, it inspires me to get off my duff and create something.
What a wonderful idea, Anita, and beautifully presented at that! I love the pitcher with paintbrushes!
LOL...Thanx Dave. Hope you're fully recovered now! ;)
Thankyou Margaret. Don't you just hate days like those?
Thankyou Jenny!
Thankyou Sherie. So pleased to have inspired you, I've been along to your blog to witness the results of your first week...Fabulous!
Thankyou Serena. The pitcher is a gift from my parents brought back from a trip abroad.
