Little Surprises
If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.
~Vincent Van Gogh
Today I sketched some of the Birthday gifts my friends had given me in my small moleskin journal. It's always so nice to receive gifts especially as you get older and have the responsibility of organising most everything in your life...Little surprises such as these remind you of the child within...I could hardly wait to open them but resisted until the morning of my actual Birthday ...I am rather proud of that fact!
As I began to sketch the footprints on the gift voucher my parents gave me, the phone rang and my Nephew beamed through his announcement "It's a boy!"
Born on April 6th 2007, they have named their Son 'Spencer', he weighed in at 8lb 4oz, a nice solid weight for a bouncing baby boy ~ Mother and baby are well!
Congratulations to Gary and Jo and not forgetting little Izzy on the birth of her new baby Brother!
