EDM Challenge 26
Pigment liner & Derwent 'Signature' coloured pencils
Went shopping today and came across a beautiful bunch of iris for the bargain price of just £2.10, so I decided to use them as my subject for EDM challenge no.26 - Sketch anything!

Lovely, sensitive drawing, Anita. The beauty of doing a drawing of your flowers is that you triple (at least) your enjoyment of them--you have them in "person", and you really study them, and then you have the drawing to remind you how wonderful they were.
I bought some irises last week. It was nice to see your drawing of irises. Hopefully my drawing will improve so i can do such things. They look difficult to me.
Lots of love from Susan in Australia
You have captured the gracefulness of these flowers. Very nice.
This is beautiful. I clicked on the larger version, it came out fantastic! :)
Wow, this puts my recent efforts at drawing irises into the shade. I found them really difficult to draw, so I'm extremely impressed by this; it is beautiful. And a bargain to boot!
Beautiful drawing, Anita.
Beautiful! I love your use of darker values which gives balance to the composition. This is one that could be framed!
Gorgeous pencil work....you captured them well...
This is such a beautiful drawing of my favorite flowers in the whole world...Thank you for sharing the love :-)
Lovely. Love the softness you have created witht the colored pencil.
So beautiful. You caught the softness and delicate quality of them. Beautiful work!
Gorgeous drawing!
How true Virginia...Thankyou for taking time to comment!
Thankyou Susan, I think the key is to simplify subjects in your mind and rather than thinking 'iris' or 'portrait' think 'shape' & 'values'.
Thankyou Deborah!
Thanx Pugs!
Thanks alot Dave. I hope to get another sketch out of them before they fade...maybe watercolour next time!
Thankyou Casey.
Thankyou Bonny.
Thankyou Margaret. I had problems with a couple of the CO hues ahering to the page which made things tricky, I would have liked a more finished look but it just wasn't happening. Some of my 'Signature' CP's are harder than others.
Thankyou for sharing your kind words Laura
Thankyou Irene!
Thankyou Phthaloblu, your kind comments are much appreciated.
Thanx Shelly!
