Saturday Journal Entry

This is my journal entry for last Saturday, this Saturday's weather was not sunny!
Harry won this trophy as runner-up in a clay shooting competition...He's a natural, just like Jake.

Old Huntstanton

12" x 7" Ink & watercolour compilation - Old Hunstanton

Another sketch compilation for Haddenham Galleries.

This time the three sketches bled right into one another so I painted parts in monochrome to detatch them slightly and hopefully stop the whole thing looking like a single image. (The lighthouse actually sits on top of those glorious cliffs and I am sure those women are very clever but doubt their ability to actually walk on water!)

I think it works...You?

Saturday Spread

I've started on a new every day journal, a nice big 8 inch square one, a dream to work in but a nightmare to scan, so I had to photograph it!

You can click on the image to enlarge it.

Every Day In May 20

*20-DRAW SOMETHING DAD

This is my Dads house, smack bang opposite my own, infact, this is the view from my doorstep!
Sketched while sipping on one of my many morning coffees; sun beating down, only the sound of birds singing and bees humming breaking the silence with the ducks and baby chicks at my feet!
Ahhh...Heaven!

The Salon, Ramsey

I visited Daniel Spencers' beautiful new salon in Ramsey on Saturday and while waiting for my hair to be pampered, I sketched a corner of the luxurious waiting room!

*19-DRAW SOMETHING YOU MADE

My Son Harry, one of two of the best things I have ever and could ever hope to make!
I am so damn clever!

*05-DRAW YOUR BED

I have been sketching my daily spreads for EDiM but am a little behind on the scanning.
Here's my bed, unmade because it looked far more interesting.
I spend very little time here, on average of about 4 hours a night, I'd like to blame my endless coffee intake but the truth is I was a night owl way before I started drinking coffee.

IFJM - 26, 27, 28 April

Just cathcing up posting the last three entries from my International Fake Journal. It was fun to compose a journal through Alphonses' eyes.

No time to colour these two entries before scanning but who knows, maybe Alphonse will colour them at a later date!

Rock Chick

The self portrait above was created partly from using a reference in a magazine of some rock star and partly from memory. I added my face to the piece from memory and was quite surprised at how it came out, it does look a little like me, infact I think I did a better job than when I use a mirror!
This is all one spread in my sketchbook, scannned in two halves, the section below was sketched while I was getting ready to out with a good friend to the Mad Cat Inn in Pidley, I didn't have time to add colour but the sandals are green and the nail varnish is 'hot pink'.

*3 - DRAW A BAG/PURSE

Every Day In May 2

*2 - DRAW A LAMP

Yay, I got my PC back from the PC hospital and was able to scan this spread rather than photograph it.
30 odd viruses, even though I constantly used Norton, and they were still able to save all my family photos, which is such a gift!

Every Day In May 1

*1 - DRAW A SHOE

After finishing the international fake journal month in April, I found I still had half the sketchbook over and decided to join the Every Day in May project again this year. Liz and some others have decided on an Every Day Matters theme for the month, working through the list 1-31 and I am joining them.

Number one on the list is DRAW A SHOE, a great chance for me to sketch my new gingham platforms.
